Pasture Raised Chicken
Our meat type chickens are raised seasonally during the summer on pasture. They have portable houses for shelter and shade and a large range area surrounded by net fencing for predator protection. We move their house daily so they always have fresh grass underfoot. We also move the fence multiple times a week
to give them fresh grazing areas.
This year they grazed on some lush pastures full of alfalfa, dandelion, clover, asters.

They are fed a custom mixed grain feed free of antibiotics

Weights vary from 3 1/2 to 6 1/2 pounds.
We begin taking pre-orders for chickens in April of each year. This guarantees your order and the size you want. This year we have raised extra at our new farm and have been able to freeze many for fall and into winter sales.

We are finished raising chickens for the season. Pasture Raised chicken doesn't go well with snow and cold weather. We DO HAVE a large variety of sizes of chicken in stock - frozen.

We process all our poultry ourselves by hand on the farm in small batches for high quality control and humane handling. They are packaged in clear plastic shrink bag that conforms to the chicken- reducing chances of freezer burn. These are very nice and we've had chicken last a year or more in our freezers with no freezer burn at all.

In the spring we will start taking pre-orders for 2012 chicken. We are working on the details. We are hoping to be able to offer pre-orders that with a deposit gets you a discounted price for picking up at scheduled dates- for fresh chicken. We've done this in the past and many of you requested we go back to it. So we are working on it!
