Sorry but we need to be different this year

We will not be raising pigs this year- no pork for sale and not taking orders. We knew we needed a break and needed more time to get some projects done. Then we are caring for parents that need assistance, something has to give.

So the farm will be a bit different.

We also will not have vegetables for sale at the farmstand. But do plan to have sunflowers july & august, Sweet corn in August.

We’ve had alot of support from our wonderful customers and followers. We’ve also got the cold shoulder from others, many who have been purchasing our beef from years and years.. We’ve let them down by changing things and also by raising our beef prices.

Anyone bought gas or diesel lately? We have. It hurt, alot. It’s going to keep hurting for a long time it seems. Anyone purchased parts for a machine lately? We have, we do it alot. For the farm for Matt and Cam’s businesses. Prices are up there and we are dealing with parts being difficult or impossible to get anymore. Poof gone or poof, prices up. Companies supplying parts can be such jerks too. I ordered a part for the truck. It’s clearly states on their website that it is the part for this truck. Ha. it was not. Then I have to pay the shipping to send it back. I’m fighting to get that back. PSA. parts geek has lost our business forever.

Beef prices…….. prices of animals at auction are still stupid high. STUPID high. A 6 month calf- $2,500. Do the math with what we charge for a fully finished on GRASS only beef……. Today we can make more money selling our newborn calves in a few months than we can make selling beef to customers. Tempting. But we will hang on and keep raising the right here on our grass and not selling them at auction to finish their lives on concrete and force fed crap.

So if you have ordered from us in the past and decided not to this year. We are sorry to see you leave.

Not much we can do about it.
